Walk in the Park

Feeling much better on Sunday, I took advantage of the great weather and went to Városliget (Budapest's City Park).

Hősök tere (Heroes' Square) features statues of several important people from Hungary's history.

Siemens flags were everywhere in Budapest, apparently sponsoring the Hungarian National Holiday on March 15, commemorating the 1848 Revolution against the Habsburgs.

Vajdahunyad Vára (Vajdahunyad Castle). Built for the millennium celebration of 1896, this copy of the Transylvanian castle of the same name now houses a museum of agriculture.

Saw some locals...

...and found the tourists.

I didn't exactly get the
connection between Budapest
and, what appeared to be,
Native Americans.

There are great trees & sculptures.

This is actually an hour glass.
When time is up, this huge
granite thing rotates.

And I had to visit Fővárosi Állat- és Növénykert
(Budapest's zoo & botanical gardens).

The elephants' food reminds me
of my prep work from my last post.

In Budapest, raccoons are in the zoo.
In Chicago, raccoons can be found
everywhere except in the zoo.
